Let's dive in 💿

Updates to React Router

The holidays didn't stop our momentum. Since the launch of v7, we've released 2 patches and 1 minor version of React Router. As of v7.1.1, we've added support for Vite v6, improved type safety, and fixed several bugs.

  • Add support for Vite v6
  • Type safety improvements
    • Ignore redirects when inferring loader data types
    • Improve matches and params types for child routes
  • Bug fixes and other improvements
    • Throw unwrapped Single Fetch redirect to align with pre-Single Fetch behavior
    • Remove <Link prefetch> false positive warnings
    • Fix missing fs-extra dependency for CLI
    • Properly initialize NODE_ENV if not already set for compatibility with React 19
    • Remove the leftover/unused abortDelay prop from ServerRouter and update the entry.server.tsx to usestreamTimeout value
    • Throw error in flatRoutes if routes directory is missing
    • Support moduleResolution for Node16 and NodeNext
